Not looking to marry you, Russel. Besides, I doubt you're my type! <ROTF>

I'm pretty sure I've booted to other than (hd0,0) but I was using an install
script at the time, so I wouldn't be able to typo. Not that I knew what to type
at the time... Grub has only worked for me at (hd0), though, so I've stuck to
that, and just directed it to find /boot wherever the coffee makes me put it.

I was about to give each install a separate monolithic partition, but I might
try sharing swap, /boot, /usr, and /home. Any thoughts on the following?
(hd0) grub
(hd0,0) swap shared between distros
(hd0,1) /boot " "
(hd0,2) /home " "
(hd1,0) /usr " "
(hd2,0) / distro A
(hd2,1) / distro B
The latest I read, is that /usr is quite hospitable, being mostly a repository.
I'm pretty sure I'll be out of my depth trying to share /home and /boot though.
Not that deep water has ever scared me...

A good belly laugh can be just like the fight-or-flight response, so I've
heard. Anyway, considering your local, the truth of that statement is only akin
to me laughing so hard my brain is starved from oxygen. <Gasping for breath>
.. A papa bear would eat the baby bear, rape the moma bear, and leave.
